Inclusive Education Hub

Students access a range of curriculum areas with options of life skills outcomes, reduced mainstream outcomes and mainstream outcomes.

The Corrimal High School Inclusive Education Hub is a dynamic learning environment which fosters the development of each student in an inclusive setting. The Inclusive Education Hub consists of eight classes, these include; two Multi-Categorical classes, four Autism classes, an Intellectual Mild (IM) class and an Intellectual Moderate (IO) class. These classes vary in the number of students which is determined by the factor of need of each student. Each class has a specialised teacher and a Student Learning Support Officer (SLSO) to assist the students in all facets of their schooling.

Students within each class are offered a diverse curriculum with a focus on both mainstream and Life Skills outcomes. Individualised Education Plans are created in consultation with parents and outside agencies and are reviewed each semester to ensure they are current and relevant to the student.

One aspect of the Corrimal High School Inclusive Education Hub which we are extremely proud of is the integration of students into mainstream classes with classroom teachers making the necessary adjustments to ensure each student’s learning needs are met. Students participate in sporting opportunities with their mainstream peers, engage in activities in the Agriculture Plot and are offered work experience opportunities with local disability providers and businesses.
