The NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) is responsible for the curriculum, Kindergarten to Year 12, for all NSW schools.
For the high school years, NESA develops syllabuses for all subjects in 8 key learning areas:
- creative arts
- English
- human society and its environment (HSIE)
- languages
- mathematics
- personal development, health and physical education (PDHPE)
- science
- technological and applied studies (TAS).
NSW schools also offer special religious education and special education in ethics via approved providers, where available.
Like all NSW schools, we have developed teaching and learning programs to suit our local context and the needs of our students.

Stages of learning
There are 6 stages of learning from Kindergarten to Year 12. High school covers Stages 4 to 6.
- Stage 4 includes Years 7 and 8.
- Stage 5 includes Years 9 and 10.
- Stage 6 includes Years 11 and 12.
Curriculum and activities
Students at Corrimal High School experience learning in an extensive range of subjects across all faculty areas. In Stage 4, students will get to sample a large range of subjects including technology, timber, art and language. Stage 5 students will then be able to select two elective units to study in-depth. Finally, in Stage 6 students will select the six subject areas they will study across two years for the HSC.
Corrimal High School is a school also privileged with the extra curricula opportunities. Student may select to become involved in leadership opportunities through the Duke of Ed program, SRC, Koori Leadership Council and more. Students interested in biology can get involved in the agricultural facilities including animal housing, calf rearing and sustainable gardening.
Students pursuing academic elevation can participate in a range of subject competitions, public speaking and debating teams, STEM extension programs and extension IDMT classes. Student athletic programs are also available through the soccer program, NRL refereeing and coaching qualifications and sport events.
Community service is encouraged among students and many participate in community event organisation and support, the running of formal assemblies, volunteer work within the community and more.
Above all, Corrimal High School recognises the need to assist and support student well-being with several programs and supports afford including extra tutoring, AIME, anti-bullying programs, peer support and mentoring.
