Deadly Encouragement Awards 2018

Students receiving their awards

October 18 marked the third annual Deadly Encouragement Awards coordinated by the Northern Illawarra AECG. The award ceremony recognises Koori student success in their educational pursuits. Recognition could be for a variety of reasons including academic, sporting, attendance and completion achievements.

As part of the ceremony, Year 12 students were acknowledged for their recent completion of Year 12. 13 years of education, hard work and effort has assisted these students to complete their HSC and look to the future. Congratulations to all Corrimal High School Year 12 students who received an award. You demonstrated that with persistence and dedication success is not only achieved but celebrated.

A further congratulation should also be afforded to Holly Ferguson and Kane Dugan. Holly was nominated for a Deadly Award for her outstanding leadership within the school Koori Leadership Council and the volunteering efforts she has participated in throughout her Hospitality course at school. A fantastic role model. Similarly, Kane’s nomination came from his persistent hard work towards educational success. His overall efforts at school are highly commendable.

Congratulations to all Corrimal High School students, and students, staff and community who were also recognised at the ceremony. Congratulations to the NIAECG for a fantastically organised event as well. Corrimal High School is looking forward to the 2019 Deadly Awards.
