On August 28, over 100 Year 5 students from across our five Community of Schools primary school attended the 2018 'Try Year 7 for a Day" event. The Year 5 CoS students participated in a range of engaging and interactive workshops allowing each student to get a taster session of over eight different curriculum areas including cooking, jewellery, plastics, physical education, mathematics, ancient history, languages and science.
Each session allowed students to work individually or in groups to complete practical challenges such as the mathematics Escape Room or to produce and take home some creations of their own, for example, the key chain. Our CoS students also had the opportunity to meet current students across Year 7 to Year 11, gaining insight as to high school life, meet the 2020 Year Adviser for their cohort and the Transition Adviser who will work to assist students entering Corrimal High School in 2020.
All CoS student were exemplary on the day and are a credit to their primary schools. We look forward to them choosing Corrimal High School as their local school of choice in 2020.
