This term has been busy for the Transition Team, in particular, for Years 10 and 12. Across the term, students participated in the Year 10 Future Finders Day at UOW. This program allows students to attend several university sessions in interest areas to help students identify potential future post-school study options. Our students were excellent leaders and were able to get a lot out of the day.
Corrimal High School had some new enrolments this term from our local CoS schools. These amazing Year 4 students from Bellambi, Corrimal, Corrimal East, Tarrawanna and Towradgi Primary School’s attended Corrimal High School’s annual Year 4 Transition Day – “Try Year 7 for a Day”. Students formed groups and were able to participate in sessions across PDHPE, TAS – IA, TAS – HE, Science, Mathematics, Dance and Language. It was great to see so many fantastic students learning to speak Mandarin, producing small Perspex keychains, delicious meat balls or playing a round of scootboard. We hope all students involved enjoyed their time at Corrimal High School and look forward to seeing them at Corrimal High School in 2022. For parents and carers, we are also looking at organising a day for your involvement. Please stay tuned.
The Enrichment Examination for Year 6 students enrolling in Corrimal High School for 2020 was held on June 17. It was great to see so many applicants once again this year. There will be a supplementary examination held on July 1 in the school hall starting at 2pm (arrive and sign in at 1:45pm). Application submissions are also due from student on July 15. Successful applicants will be offered a place in the Enrichment class for 2020 which will provide extra and targeted learning opportunities of students to extend their learning outcomes.
