Peer support mentoring

Corrimal High School - peer support

Year 10 students are offered the opportunity to undergo training as a peer support mentor. Successful applicants then become mentors to students in Year 6 and follow these students across into Year 7. Peer support mentors work with Year 6 and 7 students, implementing transition lessons, and anti-bulling workshops along with providing a friendly face under the guidance of Mr Foster.

Aim of the mentors

To assist students in their transition in to their local school of choice - Corrimal High School, link new students to programs and opportunities available as a student within the school and provide support during Year 7/11 days and camps.

Corrimal High School stands on the traditional lands of the Wadi Wadi people of the Dharawal nation. We honour their descendants, who stand with us today as part of our school community and we value the spiritual and cultural traditions they celebrate. We pay our respects to the young generations and future elders as they are the strength that will keep these traditions and dreaming alive. We also extend this respect to all those in our community.
